Bring back PE: Exercise should be 'core' class, report says
Thu May 23, 2013
Historically, PE was one of the great driving forces behind lethargic adults due to creating a negative association with exercise. Let schools develop a exercise program based on personal improvement rather than competition and then we'll talk.
People with higher IQs filter out useless info faster, study finds
Thu May 23, 2013
So, who decides what information is useless? If the universe could think, it would probably be laughing at all the pointless distinctions human being make.
Report: Long-term benefits don't keep people jobless
Wed May 15, 2013
I'm amazed how many people desperately want to believe that the unemployed are lazy and would rather receive it than get a job. Unless you've saved a lot of money or can live on a small fraction of your income, unemployment benefits won't prevent financial disaster, they can only slow it down …
Microsoft retools Windows 8 to address gripes
Tue May 7, 2013
Actually the comparison to the New Coke is more fitting than the comparison to Microsoft Bob. Bob was just a add-in program, it wasn't a new version of Windows.
Obama pledges to 're-engage' on Gitmo amid hunger strike
Tue Apr 30, 2013
A lot of these comments assume all the prisoners in Gitmo are guilty of terrorism and justify indefinite incarceration or harsh punishment on that basis. The fact is that we know no such thing at this point. That's what a fair trial would determine. It's amazing how we assume that the process of rou …
After Texas fertilizer blast, victims rely on each other
Tue Apr 30, 2013
No doubt there are generous people in Texas as there are everywhere, but I think the idea that Texans are more noble or self-sufficient than people in other states is a flawed one. I think this is a stereotype that is no more true than the idea the all Texans are rednecks.
In smartphone war, Android kingpin Samsung squares off against Apple
Wed Apr 24, 2013
Same old pro-Apple bias: "Since Apple can still release a flagship phone that beats all comers.." Based on what? Will Apple's new phone be competitive with what's on the market today or what's on the market in the fall when they actually release it. Yes, a new Apple phone might beat all comers, but …
Money can't buy love, but it can open the door to US citizenship
Sun Apr 28, 2013
Just more proof that "legal immigration" is scam. There's no real due process involved. If you don't have the money, or you're not a professional athlete, celebrity or don't come from a country we officially hate like Cuba, you can forget becoming a US citizen.
In tough economy, fast food workers grow old
Mon Apr 15, 2013
Don't mock people who are earning a degree from an art institute. There are plenty of recent college graduates who earned their degree in Engineering who can't find a job either.
'Alarm fatigue' can kill, hospital group says
Mon Apr 8, 2013
I used to work programming the software for medical infusion pumps and the alarms just get louder and shriller if you ignore them. We even added a feature to retain entered parameters for a few hours when they are turned off because it was known that nurses would turn them off immediately after a tr …
